Start by signing up and filling in your company information accurately. Be sure you enter your email address correctly so you can access your Epsilon results anytime once your evaluation is complete.
There are 50 questions that focus on key aspects of your business. The answers are based upon what you think.
There are nine functional areas with five questions for each. Once you have answered the questions for a particular area select the NEXT button to continue. If you want to go back to change your answers you can anytime by selecting the BACK button.
Note: You are limited to only a few possible responses. If you do not believe the question/comment is applicable, simply select 'not applicable'. Make sure to respond to all questions, including those that don’t apply.
The results of your evaluation are broken into 4 main sections: Overall Score, Categories, Details, and Questions. The scores are based on your answers from the evaluation.
The object is not to get a good score, but to truly understand the health of your business as it is now. The more honest you were in the evaluation, the more valuable the results and subsequent advice.
You will be provided with several scores and a graph. The graph plots your results based on two critera: quantitative and qualitative.
Quantitative: refers to hard measurements such as revenue, profits, cash flow, etc.
Qualitative: refers to soft measurements such as client satisfaction, quality of management, general competitive knowledge, etc.
In addition, you’re given a grade (A, B, C, D or F) for overall health and broken down by category. Do not panic if the grade is low. You may have been too conservative with your responses.
The categories section provides a breakdown of your overal results by category (ie. Finance, Operations, Sales & Marketing, etc.) Included is a chart that shows how each area compares to the others.
The details section provides additional insight within each category. The 50 questions you answered are represented and organized by category. As with the categories section, you’re given a score for each individual response accompanied by a helpful tip.
These charts are based upon the details within each category. That is, each category with the corresponding responses are placed in a chart for easy reference and comparison.
Your results can be downloaded as a PDF report so you can save it to your computer or device. You can also print your report whenever you like.
Cash Flow: measures your cash. What you pay out is negative cash. The money that comes in is positive. This is not profit.
Accounts Payable: bills that you have to pay, but have not paid yet. Helps you manage cash flow.
Accounts Receivable: money that is owed to you by your customers for products and services
Direct costs: (costs of goods) Costs that are attributed to the production of a specific service or product. This includes costs of materials to create the service or product. Excludes indirect costs like marketing, insurance, rent, etc.
Operating Margins: shows how well your company is generating income from normal operation of the business after you have spent money on marketing, insurance etc.
Net Profit: operating income minus taxes and interest. Money that does not go to expenses.
Cash Burn Rate: when you use up cash reserves or cash balance. Shows how fast you burn or how healthy you are.
KPI - Key Performance Indicator: measures that gauge or compare performance in term of meeting their strategic or operational goals.
ROI - Return on Investment: performance measure used to evaluate the efficiency of a number of different investments. To calculate ROI the benefit (return) of the investment divided by the cost of the investment, the result is expressed by a percentage or ratio.
